According to Netflix, “In Season 2, as the stakes grow higher, the Locke siblings embrace their role as the new Keepers of the Key.”
“We are thrilled to be continuing the journey of Locke & Key alongside all of our amazing collaborators,” co-showrunners Carlton Cuse and Meredith Averill said in a statement announcing the renewal. “We are grateful to Netflix for all their support, especially at this difficult time, and look forward to bringing you the exciting next chapter of our story.”
Cuse and Averill have been readying scripts for the new season prior to the series’ debut and are planning for multi-season run.
The show has scored 66% among viewers and 70% among critics, respectively, on RottenTomatoes.com.
A premiere date for the new season was not announced.
