Rick & Morty Season 4 Returns With A Trailer

The first look at the long-awaited fourth series of Rick and Morty is finally here. And it comes with a bang!

Adult Swim’s hit animated series “Rick and Morty” will be back on Nov. 10 after a two year gap, with mad scientist Rick Sanchez and his goofy grandson Morty Smith causing trouble all over the galaxy.

Rick and Morty is now also famous for its big gaps between seasons. In fact,  in the series three finale Mr Poopy Butthole joked he would not be seeing Rick & Morty for a while.

“Ooh-wee, see you for season 4 in like, a really long time,” he said. “I might even have a big, white Santa Claus beard. And a… couple of grandkids and all that kinda stuff.”

Just after season three ended , Dan Harmon, creator of the show, spilled the beans to Entertainment Weekly about a wide-range of subjects, including the possibility of having a larger Rick and Morty Season 4. While season three was originally set to be 14 episodes, production delays because of their own self-described “perfectionist” tendencies eventually led to a 10-episode third season.

In July,  Dan  told Entertainment Weekly: “I think it’s safe to say without fear of being wrong that the gap between seasons three and four will be the longest and last time that it’s ever so long that it’s ridiculous.

“I don’t know how fast we can do it, but I know it will never be this long again. There were so many things that had to be settled before we even started season four.”

Rick and Morty also stars the show’s co-creator Justin Roiland as Rick Sanchez and Morty Smith, alongside a voice cast including Chris Parnell as Morty’s father Jerry, Spencer Grammer as Morty’s sister Summer and Sarah Chalke as Rick’s daughter Beth.

A new cast of guest stars will feature in the new season, including Taika Waititi, Kathleen Turner, Sam Neil and Paul Giamatti.

Adult Swim officially renewed cult adult animation Rick and Morty on May 10, 2018 and it wasn’t for just 10 episodes but a whopping 70-episode renewal that will see the show pass the 100-episode mark.

The first five episodes begin on Sunday, November 10 ,with the back five presumably arriving at some point in 2020. and given the number of episodes ordered we should expect more on the way in 2020.

You can find the trailer below. It shows a number of new characters and the return of some classic characters like the Meeseeks and, Mr. Poopy Butthole, of course. Rick appears to have embraced magic, as well, this season, with dragons and a cool Doctor Strange reference about Rick’s lab coat becoming a rip off of Strange’s Cloak of Levitation.
