Funimation has uploaded the first trailer for Fruits Basket Season 2, and the trailer looks very promising. The second season of Fruits Basket has been announced and will be coming out in 2020. The first season of the classic series re-aired back in April with a brand new animation and art style and ended the first season with 25 episodes.
Fruits Basket was originally created in 1998 by Natsuki Takaya and published in Hakusensha’s Han to Yume magazine. Studio DEEN picked up and produced the anime adaptation back in 2001 and it lasted 26 episodes.
This anime eventually went on to explore its own stories and had an original ending. The new reboot aims to closely adapt Takaya’s original work, and Takaya has even signed on as a creative supervisor for the new anime.
