2 More Seasons for The Rising of The Shield Hero Anime

During the  Crunchyroll Expo last Sunday, Crunchyroll took the oppurtunity to announce that The Rising of The Shield Hero anime will be getting another two seasons. Although the company did not state when the new seasons will start it did  reveal a new visual for the anime.

The new key visual teases the “next stage” of the story. Unfortunately, the panel did not reveal any further details on these two new seasons yet.

The panel hosted opening theme song performers MADKID, Myne voice actress Sarah Emi Bridcutt, character designer Masahiro Suwa, music composer Kevin Penkin, and producer Jun’ichirō Tamura.

The English version of  Aiya Kyū’s manga adaptation is being released by One Peace Books who described the novels’ first volume as so:

“Naofumi Iwatani, an uncharismatic otaku who spends his days on games and manga, suddenly finds himself summoned to a parallel universe! He discovers he is one of four heroes equipped with legendary weapons and tasked with saving the world from its prophesied destruction. As the Shield Hero, the weakest of the heroes, all is not as it seems. Naofumi is soon alone, penniless, and betrayed. With no one to turn to, and nowhere to run, he is left with only his shield. Now, Naofumi must rise to become the legendary Shield Hero and save the world!”

The “The Rising of The Shield Hero” anime series had premiered on January 9th 2019 with a two-hour special and ran for 25 episodes with Crunchyroll streaming it as it aired in Japan. The series was scheduled to launch on Crunchyroll with English subtitles on January 9, but Crunchyroll streamed the first 45-minute English-subtitled episode early on January 5. Crunchyroll premiered the first dubbed episode at last year’s Crunchyroll Expo in September 2018 with guests from the anime.
