Black Panther Release Date Announced for 2022!

Black Panther

It looks like Marvel saved announcements for D23! Black Panther 2’s premier date has been set! The Marvel superhero Black Panther will be back in action and ready for more adventure on May 6, 2022, the Marvel Studios has officially announced while revealing the sequel of the billion dollar blockbuster movie. After a successful turnout as the Oscars, ‘Black Panther’ director Ryan Coogler will be return once again as director of  this sequel  film.

Many anticipated that a sequel was on the way, especially after the worldwide successful results of the 2018 movie as well as a stunning award haul. Marvel’s branchild  Kevin Feige took the stage at D23 on Saturday to spread this long awaited announcment. Starting with a playful banter, Feige tried hard to convince Coogler into revealing the plot, official title or the first act for ‘Black Panther II’, but Marvel fans already know that no spoiler is ever let out until the movie is shown in cinemas.

Coogler stated that the crew is “taking their time with it” in order to get it right.

‘Black Panther’ brought us actor Chadwick Boseman as the titular superhero. The movie was considered to be Marvel’s first film to consist mostly of an all-African-American cast. It was applauded for demonstrating women of substance working as allies of protagonist T’Challa (Boseman) to tackling relevant subjects.

‘Black Panther’  also included a star studded cast in its lineup including Letitia Wright, Lupita Nyong’o, Forrest Whitaker, Michael B. Jordan, Danai Gurira, and Angela Bassett.

The movie was nominated for seven Academy Awards, including Best picture — this was a first for a Marvel superhero movie. ‘Black Panther’ managed to grab 3 Oscar awards including best original score.

‘Black Panther’ continued shortly after from where  ‘Captain America: Civil War’ left off, with T’Challa returning home to the secret African nation of Wakanda to become king following the death of his father. The Winter Soldier also makes a followup appearance towards the end. No news yet what the storyline will be for the sequel
