POW! Entertainment took oppurtunity at the San Diego Comic-Con to announce the launch of The Amazing Stan, an animated series that will feature a young Stan Lee in elementary school!
Having departed in November 2018 at the age of 95, the late Stan Lee is still very present in the hearts of fans of Marvel and Pop Culture in general. San Diego’s 50th Comic-Con (the first since the death of the artist) was an opportunity to pay tribute to the man who has participated in many editions of the convention in the past, via a panel entirely dedicated to him. This panel was also an opportunity to find out that a new project was in the pipeline in the form of an animated series starring the famous screenwriter!
POW! Entertainment has just announced the launch of The Amazing Stan, an animated series created in collaboration with Pure Imagination Studios. The latter entity had last season created the Simpson’s LEGO episode. The show will focus on the young Stan Lee in elementary school and will show his immense imagination from an early age. Stan and his friends imagine their own incredible adventures as they learn to take risks, explore new ideas and never give up. It will, of course, be a fictional youth and not a biography of the young artist’s years.
The president of POW! Entertainment, Gill Champion, said following the announcement: “Stan had the amazing ability to see the world with a childish imagination, for example, an office building becomes a castle while the streets below form a moat protecting the inhabitants. It takes a very special creative team to capture the story of a young Stan and the birth of his unique creations, and we are excited to be working with Pure Imagination Studios and its team of designers and collaborators to tell this story. and sharing this incredible adventure with its fans is a testament to our continued drive to propel Stan’s iconic legacy for generations to come. “
Like his creations, Stan Lee has now become a real brand for his rights holders who intend to continue to enjoy the aura of the artist after his death … An approach that will be described as questionable which will materialize for the moment with the production of an animated series (as the date of release still unknown), but which certainly should not stop there.
