Shudder took the oppurtunity the SDCC to reveal the first images of the series Creepshow that will debut this fall on the VOD service!
37 years after the cult film created by George A. Romero and Stephen King, Creepshow will be back in style this year! Like the feature film composed of five independent chapters, the first season of the show produced by Greg Nicotero (The Walking Dead) will offer 12 horror stories (and as many episodes) with the first images having just been unveiled at the San Diego Comic-Con!
According to the trailer, we should discover a string of strange monsters such as a werewolf, a plant creature, zombies and many other morbid creatures. It will also be noted that the series takes on the somewhat kitsch style of the feature film with its old-fashioned special effects. Fans of retro horror movies will appreciate, others certainly a little less …
As for the casting, the Creepshow series will boast a lineup consisting of Adrienne Barbeau who was already present in the original Romero film, as well as Tobin Bell (Saw), David Arquette (Scream), Jeffrey Combs (Re-Animator), Kid Cudi (Need For Speed), Giancarlo Esposito (Gus Fring in Breaking Bad), Tricia Helfer (Lucifer), DJ Qualls (Citizen Z in the Z Nation series ) and Big Boi (Baby Driver).
The first season of Creepshow will be available on September 26 on the Shudder platform.
